Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DBCCI)
Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DBCCI) is an established institute for the common interest of Dutch-oriented business companies and organizations. This is the only bilateral chamber having formal and constitutional approval by the Government of Bangladesh. Though very young, it has so far maintained 250 member companies under its registration, and more Dutch-oriented companies are yet to register.
According to the Terms of Reference (TOR), DBCCI, recognizing the private sector's ability, aims to contribute to achieving the goals of socioeconomic development, local investments, and Dutch investment and trade.
To foster collaboration, the institute’s primary objectives include not only facilitating the exchange of views and ideas but also protecting Dutch interests in Bangladesh through representative discussions. The main fields of the institute at this stage are identified as follows:
- To develop DBCCI and provide facilities and services to persons, firms, and companies interested in economic transactions, including trade, commerce, and industry between the Netherlands and Bangladesh.
- To disseminate knowledge and information relating to Dutch trade, commerce, industry, and other economic fields.
- To organize visits of business delegations from the Netherlands to Bangladesh and vice versa.
- To promote products of the Netherlands in Bangladesh, as well as products of Bangladesh in the Netherlands.
- To help resolve business transaction disputes between companies from the Netherlands and Bangladesh, as needed.
- To organize and administer workshops, seminars, conferences, matchmaking events, and training programs focused on expanding Dutch markets and business areas in Bangladesh.
- To strengthen economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.
